The Contribution of the Luxury Fashion Industry in Economic Development of the World

Introduction From time in memorial the fashion industry has made significant impacts to the politics, economy, education and art of various cultures. Today, as illustrated by Brun et al. (2008 p. 558), it marks as a significant element of increasing globalisation.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on The Contribution of the Luxury Fashion Industry in Economic Development of the World specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Furthermore, Brun et al. (2008 p. 548) brings out the significance of the industry with a meaning of luxury as opposed to asserting that the products and services are exclusive to the wealthy and powerful in the society. Luxury is a ‘soft or extravagant living, sumptuousness, opulence’’. In the ancient times, the colours and features of the clothes worn indicated the social and political classes of the people and expressed the power vested in people who adorned certain clothes or apparel. In 21st Century, it is essential to note that not much has changed in this regard. The luxury fashion industry is marked by willingness to spend to get the best outfit that builds expression, perception and recognition. In essence, from an economic point of view where costs are minimized to get higher profits, developing and managing the luxury fashion brand is a difficult and long process. Notwithstanding, getting their contribution to economic development and growth requires a consistent, integrated, innovative and rigours strategy. With such controls, obtaining feedback auditing and other relevant information is significant in this endeavour. Various authors and researchers have tried to estimate the fashion industry growth and its significance. For instance, Datamonitor (2009) have put down that the global luxury fashion sector is estimated to be worth about US $ 130 billion with an annual growth rate of approximately 20%. The global fashion industry significance to the national economies is fundamental in their consumers. As such, their growth is inevitable. However, the gap exists, other than the industry growth and development, but the contribution to economic development and growth of the world is missing. The industry is dominant in countries like the United States of America, Spain, France, China and Italy.Advertising Looking for research paper on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More This fact does not disqualify its presence and active contribution to the GDP of other countries. However, enough data, justification, input and CPIs with regard to its contribution in economic growth and economic development of the world pushes the researcher to this determination. This information will have a fundamental impact in the level of reliance to the luxury fashion industry sector. Again, it will open the market for more countries to channel or withdraw their resources to or f rom the industry. Hypothesis Null Hypothesis The fashion industry has very little contribution to the economic development of the world. In essence, the luxury fashion industry has no significant contribution to the economic development of the world or the economic growth. Alternative Hypothesis The fashion industry contributes significantly to the economic development of the world economy. This means that the luxury fashion industry has a major impact in the economic development of the world as well as the economic growth. It is therefore critical that we determine, through scientific methods and approaches, the level of contribution of the luxury fashion industry to economic development of the world. This indicates the critical quest for an effective study as a secondary invention to go through the world national economies as well as its commercial industry. Methodology The study will involve use of qualitative and quantitative research. Thus, assume the research design on data us ed. According to Sounders, Lewis Thornhill (2003), the deductive approach will be used to determine the quantitative data. On the other hand, the inductive approach will be applied in measuring and ascertaining the qualitative data. As such, the literature review will involve evaluation of secondary data in an effort to rely on empirical evidence and utilise the necessary concepts. Subsequently, analysis of the field research data shall be undertaken to focus on the objective of the study (Sounders, Lewis Thornhill 2003).Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on The Contribution of the Luxury Fashion Industry in Economic Development of the World specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Presuppositions of the ethical neutrality shall be considered while collecting data with adequate and correct placement of statement on the population objects being the MOschino following the probabilistic predictions. The field data wil l be from MOschino Fashion Company since it is the most dominant company in the international scale. Again, its products are used all over the countries. As such, reviewing of its data on sales, imports, exports and exchange of goods will have a sense of input or output from over 80% of the world nations (Sounders, Lewis Thornhill 2003). Results It is quite evident that the luxury fashion industry is dominant from the international scale marked with cross border international business. The development from the general scale is influenced by the frequency of the luxury fashion industry. It revealed that during the year 2009 to 2012, the global luxury fashion sector (on MOSchino statistics, and financial statements) is estimated to have transacted a turnover of about US $ 100 billion with an annual growth rate of approximately 12%. Discussion and conclusion A turnover of about US $ 100 billion with an annual growth rate of approximately 12% within three years is a big figure. This ind icates a significant contribution of the fashion industry sector to the economic development and growth. As such, the researcher is left to refute the null hypothesis that the luxury fashion industry has not contribution to world economic development. Rather, the researchers agrees to the alternative hypothesis that the fashion industry contributes significantly to the economic development of the world economy. Introduction: Edgar Edwards and Michael Todaro argue that an investing in instruction past the literacy phase is an investing in idle resources. They have some good and bad statements and below. I am traveling to review their statements reviewing their points with the aid of facts. statistics and logical ground. Their chief statement is that an investing in instruction is an investing in idle resources. since the figure of unemployed has been lifting as the figure of people who pursue post-literacy instruction. Sample MBA Leadership Recommendation Letter

Sample MBA Leadership Recommendation Letter As part of the admissions process, most MBA programs ask students to submit recommendation letters from a current or former employer. The admissions committee wants to know more about your work ethic, teamwork capability, leadership ability, and work experience. This information helps them to determine whether you would be a good fit for their business program. Tips for a Great MBA Recommendation Letter The  best MBA recommendation letters  support the rest of your business school application by providing details about your work experience, leadership, and personal qualities. They can push borderline candidates into the acceptance stack. Choose your recommenders wisely.  Business schools would rather see professional recommendations than academic recommendations, preferably from your current supervisor. Your MBA recommenders should be able to speak in detail about your qualifications, supporting the points you made in your essays.  If you dont know many people who can do this, start cultivating some. Prepare your recommenders well.  While its not advised to write your own recommendations for others to sign, you should provide your recommenders with the necessary background information to write compelling letters.  This should include: The resume you plan to submit with your application.A statement of purpose indicating how you’re presenting yourself in your application. If you havent written it, provide a rough outline of what you plan to say.Talking points. Remind them of projects you managed that they can use to highlight your skills.A list of schools to which you are applying.A list of deadlines.  Ask for recommendations well in advance of deadlines.Instructions for how to submit letters, through  the school’s online system or by mail. If your schools require mailed letters, include envelopes and postage. Send a thank-you note.  Send it two weeks before the deadline, which will also provide a gentle reminder if the recommendation  hasnt been written. Once you get your decisions,  let your recommenders know how it turned out. Sample Leadership Recommendation Letter This sample letter of recommendation was written for an MBA applicant. The letter writer made an effort to discuss the applicants leadership and management experience. To Whom It May Concern:Janet Doe has worked for me as a resident manager for the past three years. Female Orgasm Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Female Orgasm - Essay Example Once at the point of a sexual high they are in a rhythmic stage which allows them to feel at the precept of having an orgasm. However, it can be factually said that many men have no idea of where to even begin in bringing a woman to this point, let alone to a climax because the woman's human anatomy is far more complex than the man's is. Therefore many women suffer from sexual frustration because they are not granted the same pleasure sexually that their male counterpart is. There are different forms of orgasms that are easier to obtain than from vaginal intercourse alone. These three different female orgasms are known as, clitoral, G-spot, and then of course the vaginal. Researchers who have studied the interactions of sex among human beings have found that many women have clitoral orgasms far easier than they do the G-spot or through vaginal intercourse. The reasoning in-behind this is the fact that women have to have clitoral stimulation while there is sexual penetration in order to gain a fulfilling orgasm, which many men fail to give to women. This is one of the reasons that it has been discovered many women fake their orgasms because their partners are not fulfilling their sexual needs. This can be validated and proven by showing that a study carried out by the American Medical Association defined the fact that 43 % of women are sexually dysfunctional and do not have regular orgasmic experiences during sexual interactions (Oumano 2000, p. 34). Als o, another 10 % to 15 % of women never even have an orgasm, not even through their own masturbation techniques. In cases such as these the male partner is not to blame but it is rather an anatomical dysfunction or it could perhaps be psychological as well. Also, viable evidence shows that many women, around 30 % to be exact never have an orgasm through vaginal penetration alone, which validates the fact that was stated, which emphasized that vaginal intercourse along with clitoral stimulation is the way to bring about a fulfilling orgasm for the woman.Because of this fact, and in order to demystify the vaginal and G-spot orgasmic experience, many researchers claim that the clitoral area is where all orgasms stem from (Oumano 2000, p. 35). However this can be refuted itself because many women claim that no two orgasms are ever the same and some are more intensely pleasing than others, especially those who are directly from clitoral stimulation and oral sex. Also, from a philosophical context, Fr eud stated that women who could experience an orgasm during sexual intercourse must be experiencing a vaginal orgasm as many philosophers, psychologists, researchers, and even doctors do not believe that the G-spot truly exists (Rudolf 1997, p. 63). This idea has led to many debates over orgasms among women as a woman knows her body far better than anyone else and she should know whether there is truth in the G-spots existence or not. Clearly women would not agree with Freud as they commonly know that there is a G-spot in their female anatomy. Also, of course if they have actually had the sensational experience of the penis making contact with this area then they assuredly know it exists. Therefore, the conflicting views leaves some puzzlement over why the

Research Paper Example The article is informative and updated and could therefore be useful to support or validate arguments to be used in the current study which aims to determine the effect of gender in which children deal with bullying. The research conducted by the authors sought to determine â€Å"to what extent have the correlates and consequences of bullying victimization been misspecified due to an emphasis on direct forms of bullying, such as physical violence, which disproportionately affects boys† (Carbone, et.al, 332). The study was participated by 1,222 youths from 15 schools in the United States and the findings revealed significant similarities and differences in either direct or indirect bullying in terms of gender. Gropper & Froschl (2000) indicated in their findings that â€Å"boys initiated more than three times as many direct forms of teasing and bullying as girls†¦ there was a comparable number of boy and girl recipients, regardless of whether the initiator was male or female† (55). Another interesting finding was that â€Å"both boys and girls were more physical than verbal in their initiation of the incidents, but a difference was observed in the responses of the recipients. Boys were more physical in responding to boys, while girls were more verbal in responding to boys† (Gropper & Froschl, 2000, 55). The official website for James Cook University provided relevant information pertaining to reasons for the bullying behavior. Findings from the research and surveys indicated that bullying could be due to any or a combination of the following reasons: desire for power, lack of skills to communicate, scapegoating, a desire for self-aggrandizement, attempts to increase perceptions of self worth, vindictiveness, distrust of others and overvaluing of control, compliance and hierarchy (JCU, 2010, par. 1). The study indicated that â€Å"people who have been identified as bullies believe that their bullying behaviour causes them to be

The Gediminas Castle Essay Example for Free

The Gediminas Castle Essay The funicular is 71m long and will take you 40m high. The angle is said to be 36 degrees. Opening hours 10.00 19.00 all year round. Tickets: up and down adults 3Lt, pensioners and school children 2Lt up OR down adults 2 Lt, pensioners and school children 1Lt The so called Upper Castle, or Gediminas Castle, was built at the beginning of the 14th century on the site of an earlier wooden one. A century later it was rebuilt and strenghtened. Along with the Lower Castle (now gone) and the defensive wall it formed a powerful defensive system. But slowly itlost its importance and after the damage caused in the war with Russia in 1655, it was left unrebuilt. After the World War II the best surviving tower was restored. It now houses a museum and an observa- tion platform. The museum is open: May Sept 10.00 19.00 whole week Oct April Tuesday to Sunday, 10.00 to 17.00. Entrance fee 5Ltl for adults, pensioners and school children 2Ltl. To the east of the tower are the ruins of the ducal palace. The Gediminas Tower is an important historic symbol of the city of Vilnius and of Lithuania. It is the only remaining part of the Upper Castle. The first wooden fortifications were built by Gediminas the Duke of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. There is historic evidence of a castle being located at the top of Gediminas Hill since the early 14th century. The original castle was made of wood and there is uncertaintainty around when exactly the stone castle was built. Originally the castle was built to protect the city of Vilnius from invaders and gave a great vantage point ove the city and surrounding countryside. Over the centuries the city of Vilnius was attacked five times but the castle was never successfully taken. It was only in the 17th century, during the war with Moscow, did the castle finally succumb to foreign invasion when  it was nearly completely destroyed. Recently, parts of the castle have been restored, but access to the interior of the castle is still not possible for visitors. Fairly easy walk (assuming youre wearing good walking shoes) up Gedeminas Hill allows for wonderful views of Vilnius. The orange-red roofs of old town spread out below, while taller modern buildings can be seen in the distance, a reminder that Vilnius is both a historical site and modern, living city. At the top of the hill stands the remains of the Upper Castle, built in the 15th century. Inside the tower is a museum detailing some of the citys history. Climb to the top of the tower for even better views of the city below. For a change of pace, take the funicular down to the bottom of the hill when youre ready to leave. Its a fun ride, and quick! The first timber castle was built on Castle Mount by Grand Duke Gediminas around 1320. It was replaced by a brick one in the second half of the 14th century, which had to be re-built by Grand Duke Vytautas after a fire in 1419. The castle served the Polish kings as a bell foundry and a jail and, later, as King Sigismund Augusts library. In 1655 it was conquered by the Muscovites, which was the start of its gradual decline. The only remaining part of it at present is just one tower which houses the Museum of the Castle. From its top you can admire the panorama of Vilnius. Unfortunately, we could only see the castle from below. There were no signposts to the funicular and it was getting too late for us to attempt a walk. The pictures of the panorama of the town were taken by my friend on her stay in Vilnius. All Lithuanians know a legend about establishment of Vilnius city. It was the beginning of 14th century when Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas stopped for an overnight near confluence of Neris and Vilnele rivers. That night he dreamt an iron wolf howling on a hill. In the morning his soothsayer Lizdeika explained his dream as a sign for him to build here a city as it will become a well known and widely resounded in all over the World. Gediminas ordered to pour a mound at the same place he slept. On the hill there a castle was built, the predecessor for the nowadays Gediminas castle. According to archeological researches, the hill where Gediminas castle stands nowadays was already inhabited in a Neolithic period. In 11-13th centuries a wooden castle here stood. The same as Vilnius city, it was mentioned in 1323 for the first time. For more than 250 years since 1315, when a dynasty of GediminaiÄ iai ruled the Grand Duke of Lithuania, the complex of Vilnius castles served as a solid defensive structure. The complex included the Bottom castle, the Upper castle and the Skew castle. The Bottom castle extended in a territory of a few hectares. It stood at the same place where now the Vilnius Cathedral stands. It looked as a separate city as it included a school, an arsenal, stables, living buildings, a cathedral. However, it finally vanished in 1800. The newly built Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania nowadays symbolizes the former Bottom Castle. The Skew castle stood on the Skew hill, the same one which nowadays is known as the Bleak hill where a monument called â€Å"Three Crosses† is erected. The Skew castle was burnt in 1390 by German Order. Remains of the Upper castle are still standing on Gediminas hill. This castle is also called Gediminas castle. There were times when it was one of the most important political centers in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. There is also a tower of Gediminas castle located which can be seen well from any place in Vilnius Old Town. The tower nowadays serves as a museum, an observation square and a symbol of Vilnius and the whole Lithuania. The museum located in the tower of Gediminas castle is a part of National museum of Lithuania. There is an exposition called â€Å"Guns and an iconography of the castle† exposed. Visitors can get acquainted with models of the complex of Vilnius castles, historical weaponry and iconography of the old Vilnius. Tourists can climb up the Gediminas hill themselves in order to visit the castle and the tower or they can use an elevator working there daily. Marvelous views of Vilnius city open from the top of the Gediminas hill. Some people, especially youth, like settling on a spacious stone fence here and watch the city life from above. It is an impressive place where young fellows like to take their girlfriends, city guides always include this destination to tours around Vilnius, the hill is often visited by schoolchildren excursions and separate tourists. The only inconvenience about the place is that you must be on time to get down the hill in order  not to be locked in the hill territory. The hill is not available to climb up all day long.

Germany Essay -- essays research papers

Germany is the fourth largest country in area in Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has a varied terrain that ranges from low-lying coastal flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily forested mountains and snow-covered Alps in the south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich culture, but it did not become a unified nation until 1871. Before that time, Germany had been a confederacy (1815-1867). The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997 estimate). Germany is overwhelmingly urban, and most people lead a prosperous, comfortable lifestyle, with adequate leisure time and comprehensive social welfare benefits. Berlin is the capital and largest city, although Bonn, which was the provisional capital of West Germany, is still home to some government offices. The principal language is German, and about 70 percent of the people are either Roman Catholic or Protestant. Germany has a very large and modern industrial economy and is a leading producer of such products as iron and steel, machinery and machine tools, and automobiles. Germany is an economic powerhouse in the European Union (EU), and its currency, the deutsche mark (DM), is among the strongest in the world. Germany ranks as the fourth largest country in Europe, after European Russia (the part of Russia west of the Ural Mountains), France, and Spain. Germany ...

Love Is Sacrifice Essay

I left work today realizing just how fortunate I am to be on the track towards a successful career. And on top of that, the fact that I actually enjoy my job makes it even better! It’s definitely been a long road. I think about how I had to deal with rude and ignorant customers as a convenient store cashier during junior high, the strenuous labor working alongside my mother at the dry cleaners in high school, and then finally those dreaded double shifts waiting tables for three years during college. And yet I look at what I have today and realize that I haven’t obtained these things for myself. All of it has been provided by the hands of the good Lord, and the sacrifice of my parents. It’s truly amazing what a parent’s love for his/her child can accomplish. How much they are willing to sacrifice for the sake of their children. I must say without a doubt that is one of the most important lessons my parents have taught me. Love is sacrifice. My parents immigrated to the U.S. in 1979. My mother came to this country first in January of that year, along with her parents and her siblings. She left behind her husband and her two daughters in search of a better life for all of us. Being away from your child even for a minute is the hardest thing to do as a mother. Not a day went by during our separation that she didn’t think of us, did not long to hold us in her arms and to sing us to sleep with sweet lullabies. She fought back tears and endured heartache every day, but she knew that in the long run, this would all be worth it. My dad tells me that during this time while I was in Korea under his sole care, I would look up at all the airplanes that flew by and cry out, â€Å"Um-ma, Um-ma† (mother in Korean). My father would shake his head and tell me that it wasn’t my mother and I would burst into tears. My father and my aunts (his sisters) told me they had never seen an infant cry as much as I did during the time my mother was gone. Finally, almost a year later in December of 1979, we were reunited with my mother at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. My father likes to tell me how our reunion was delayed, because I had to use the bathroom and couldn’t hold it in. So the flight was delayed twenty minutes for its departure to the good old USA because of little moi and her weak bladder (oops!). When I finally saw my mother, I immediately ran into her arms. I must have been the happiest little girl in the world at that very moment. But my sister (who was not even one at the time my mother left) didn’t recognize her and clung to my father refusing to go into my mother’s arms. I can’t imagine the heartache my mother must have felt when her own child didn’t recognize her. Even as my mother retold the story to us, she choked with emotion recalling the alienation she sensed at that moment. What a sacrifice she made. But a child never forgets the womb from which she was conceived and in no time at all, my sister was Mom’s little baby girl again. My mother is my role model of strength and courage. My parents had heard such wonderful stories about life in America. But life wasn’t wonderful in the beginning. My grandparents, two uncles, my aunt, and my parents all lived together in a small apartment in Maryland. They could hardly speak the native language. They had no money to their name. They were starting off from scratch. They began as cashiers at local convenient stores, worked in dry cleaners, and basically took whatever job they could get. Here they were, educated and skilled, yet working these blue-collar jobs in the hopes that one day their children wouldn’t have to. My parents both worked long hours. We hardly saw them and soon found ourselves becoming â€Å"latch-key† kids. My sister, brother, and I basically grew up taking care of ourselves. My father was also attending seminary at the same time studying to be a pastor, which I think ended up being one of the greatest sacrifices he made. There’s no money in ministry. No glory. Very little benefits. But I learned quickly that the treasures on Earth fade away just as quickly as the sun rises and the sun sets. My father saw the eternal reward and was willing to sacrifice everything he had for it†¦ including a comfortable life for himself and his family. I find myself awestruck at how my father even raised a family of five on his salary. I make more than double what he ever made as a pastor. And I’m having a hard enough time managing my finances as a single person, much less raising a family. Yet my father knew this was his calling in life and he knew it would not be an easy road for any of us. My father is my role model of sacrifice and incredible faith. My sister and I had to work our way through college, studying diligently when we weren’t working odd jobs to pay off our tuition and rent. Though those years were hard and we found ourselves ready to give up at certain points of our college career, we made it through. But I remember the moments where I felt I just couldn’t go on living like this. I remember vividly one night during my sophomore year in college when I came home after a horrible night at the restaurant and found myself weeping quietly in the corner of my room (hoping my roommates wouldn’t hear). I stayed there the rest of the night, wishing with all my heart that my life were different. Yet it was the hope and dreams of something better down the road that got me through those hard days. Although my parents couldn’t give us much in terms of material things, they gave us so much more. My sister, brother, and I have a deep appreciation and understanding of hard work and sacrifice. Having experienced the hardships ourselves, we are only that much more grateful for what our parents did for us. The chance they took to go to a different country where everything was foreign to them so that they could give their children a better life than they had known for themselves. To sacrifice their own dreams and ambitions so that we could see ours come true. Now as college graduates with promising careers, my parents proudly see that their sacrifice was well worth it. Mere words cannot say thank you enough.

life-changing influence

There are two people who have had a significant influence in my life like. These are my father and my best friend, Timothy. I consider both of them to be my heroes because they helped me to become more enthusiastic about my studies. They also taught me how to live without being fearful especially being fearful of failing. Particularly during my elementary and junior high school years I was not particularly motivated to excel nor attempted to perform as well as the other students in my classes. This began to change, however, when I met Timothy, my very good friend, during my very first year in high school. He is person who has had an alarming impact on my life and influenced me to change my negative attitude. I now refer to him as my soul mate. In a number of ways Timothy has helped me to adopt a more positive attitude towards my school work and life in general. Timothy encouraged me to study hard and helped me believe that I could perform as well as or even better than the students who were usually at the top in my class. Prior to meeting Timothy I did not see the value of studying or revising work covered in class. When I was faced with tests I depended solely on my small recollection of what transpired in class and this prevented me from succeeding or excelling. Timothy taught me to study on a continuous basis not only as it approached exams. He helped me to prepare more effectively for exams by teaching me to study bit by bit prior to the exam rather than just a night or two before. He showed me that by re-reading the material which had been explained in class it would be easier for me to recall information whenever I had a test. Timothy even encouraged me to challenge him on our various tests. Most importantly I remember him saying to me â€Å"never give up, before you try first† so I took on the challenge to aim for the skies. As a result of his influence and encouragement and my heeding his advice, my relative rank in the class improved and so did my interactions with my classmates and friends. My friends started inviting me to study with them as a team. They began to see me as a diligent and clever student and I was accepted into their clique. Finally I began to feel as if I belonged. Even though Timothy and I are now pursuing different educational goals (he chose electrical engineering while I choose business) after having graduated from high school, I will never forget the considerable influence he had in transforming my life. Besides Timothy, my father has also had a significant influence on my life extends. Prior to knowing Timothy I was not goal-oriented and had little prospects for my future. When I began to see that I could actually be successful I also began to think about a future occupation. My father has been instrumental in helping me to decide on a career. Currently I have chosen to pursue Business administration as my major with a particular interest in entrepreneurship and finance because of the exposure I got to these fields by my father. My father, working in business himself, allowed me to accompany him on several occasions on business trips and I even attended several business conferences and negotiations with him. The perspective and knowledge I gained from these sessions have encouraged me to choose this same field to pursue as my career goal. Additionally the financial aspect of business administration has particular appeal to me. I had often heard my father discussing Indonesian stocks, such as Telkom, Indosat as well as American stocks, such as Dow Jones. The Stock Exchange is, I believe, a lucrative avenue through which companies can maintain their business and even bring in profits. In choosing business administration as my major I hope to learn to essentials of managing a business. What I look forward to most is developing my communication skills so that I could become an effective and efficient businessman. Since I plan to operate my own business I hope to learn essential business communication skills such as how to communicate effectively and respectfully in both in written and spoken forms, how to motivate others particularly employees, how to foster good interpersonal relations, how to use various communication tools to assist in carrying out the functions of my future enterprise, the skills of making presentations among other skills that are essential to the proper administration of any business venture. Besides my father and my personal business interests, my cousin has also inspired and my interest in the business field. Some time ago he delivered an address at an Indonesian University. The title of his presentation was â€Å"Simulation Stock Competition.† Listening to his speech encouraged me to enter a university competition that was open for students to invest in the Stock Market. Of course even though the competition was in the form of a simulation and we were not investing with actual money, my interest in the Stock Market was peeked. For the two months I was involved in this program I became exceedingly excited about the strategy of business investment. Overall both my father and Timothy have motivated me to aspire for greater things. Indeed they both encouraged me to be confident in my own abilities rather than being dependent on my friends. I began to believe that, like my friends who were performing well, I too could become successful and make a significant mark in society. I am, therefore, fortunate to have had a friend and a father to encourage me to change my perspective and to help me get rid of certain negative attitudes and attributes that were very unprogressive. My vision for my life has now broadened from having absolutely no interest in my future, to being excited about a particular career option and working on fulfilling my goal of becoming a businessman. Barring such influence I may have still been stuck in the rut of mediocrity.

American football positions Essay Example for Free (#2)

American football positions Essay Football, it is not just a sport or some game. It is my whole life. Every year I have one goal and that is to make it to football season. Playing in each of those games gives a special feeling that no one can get enough of. Winter, Spring, and Summer do not even compare to what Fall is like, not only is it one of the most beautiful times of the year but the most intense, most exciting sport seasons to anyone with a pulse. I prepare for it all year long, doing different sorts of exercises such as running, lifting, jumping rope, and anything that I could think of to help me be the best athlete I could possibly be. No matter how hard someone could prepare for football there is only one thing that will truly make someone the best they could ever be and that my friend is heart. If they do not have heart they will not make it anywhere, not only in football but in life. With heart and dedication there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. Some days I just dream about playing football on the next level. The thrill of just suiting up in that jersey means the world to me. Playing underneath those blinding lights, that lights up the whole field like the sun. There are so many different ways to win games but there are a basic few that will definitely do the trick. Some offense will really put points up on the board to show how good the team is. A whole lot of defense will win the game; it will stop the other team from putting the points up. One of my favorite quotes â€Å"Offense sells tickets; Defense wins championships†Ã¢â‚¬â€œCoach Paul â€Å"Bear† Bryant Jr. There is always Special Teams too without it there would be no kickoffs, no field goals, and without it the game would not be complete. Morgan 2 The Offense, I would not say it was my favorite thing but I play it to help put points up on the board. There are so many different positions on the offense and over a million different plays and formations. There is the offensive line, which is one of the most rough and intense places I have ever been. There is punching, kicking, and anything to show superiority, if I did not know any better I would think I was fist fighting somewhere in those trenches. There is the running backs and the quarterbacks. They get all of the glory because they are the ones who score the touchdowns. The running backs and the linemen work together to score, one wrong move by one of the linemen and our running back gets tackled. The linemen block the defensive players to stop them from tackling our running back, if we succeed we score. The Defense, my all-time favorite thing, this is where they separate the boys and the men. I love going out and just smashing some people’s helmets in. There are a so many different positions like defensive tackles, cornerbacks, safeties, and my favorite line-backers. No matter where the plan is going there will be someone there to stop them. Like that quote said defense wins championships and that is 100% true without defense it just be a track meet. This is just me but I would rather sack a quarterback than score a touchdown, but some people they are not like that. The one thing that wins and loses games is the special teams. The field goal is one of the most important things in some cases this can win the game. I have seen it send teams into the winner circle and I have seen it send teams down loser lane. There is also kickoffs where every time the team scores they kick it off to the other team. There is a punt when the team does not succeed to make a first down in the four downs they are giving. Morgan 3 All of these things can make or break the team but, the one team that can do each and everything better than the other team will be victorious. If they do not play the best they can always look forward to next week. American football positions. (2017, Jun 01).

Economics in the World Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3250 words

Economics in the World - Essay Example Between 2003 and 2006, trade in goods within these countries doubled. GCC states’ share of world trade increased to 2.7% from 1.9% during the same period. Total exports of goods in 1990 stood at USD 86 billion, but increased to USD 110 billion by the end of the 1990s. In 2006, total exports rose to USD 422 billion. In terms of imports, total imports were at USD 48 billion in 1990, and increased to USD 82 billion by the end of the 1990s. By 2006, the imports in the GCC states were at USD 238 billion. In 2006, the difference between imports and exports was 184 billion. The main consumer of GCC states’ exports is Asia, while the European Union accounts for nearly one third of the imports to the GCC states. In 2006, exports to Asia from the GCC states stood at 60%, with Japan accounting for 21% of the exports. Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states emerged as key global players in the first decade of the twenty-first century. This development facilitated by the enormous resources and capital that was accumulated by these countries in the course of the second oil boom experienced in the year 2002-2008. Through theinfluence of their resources, these countries started reshaping the economy of the world. This influence was more eminent in the wake of the 2007-2008 economic crisis. Partnerships with countries such as China, Russia, East and South Asian nations, and India diverted the Gulf States’ focus further eastwards (Ulrichsen 118). The global share of natural gas and oil is anticipated to increase by 5% by 2020 from 28% which was recorded in 2000. With most of these resources going to the Asian market, the GCC states will most likely increase their diversification and widen their economic interdependencies for the Asian market. According to statistics, 40% of the increase in global oil and natural gas consumption was traced to China from 2004 and 2007. In 2009, China’s import of oil from Saudi Arabia surpassed that of the United States
